La Casona de Búmbaro is an open, welcoming space designed to make you feel at home from the moment you cross the threshold. Here, you’ll find quiet corners for reading, working, creating, and play. Above all, it is a place to immerse yourself in the deep tranquility of the Cantabrian countryside without sacrificing modern comfort.
Dating back to the late 18th century, the house was originally a traditional farmhouse, where the living quarters and stable-barn were separate worlds. Today, these spaces are seamlessly joined by a double-height lounge. At its heart sits a grand piano—a tribute to the home’s former owner, the chamber music composer Miguel Ángel Samperio, who composed many of his works within these very walls. Since 2000, thoughtful renovations have modernized the interior while meticulously preserving the home’s original character and noble materials.
